Reach under hub is the change in households reached, comparing the hub with today. Friction is the change in the friction score for one example household in each market, which the next table names. Where it says Blank, that household has no score today, usually because the only service that carries its games has not published a price.

Households and counties are Census counts DACS 2020–2024 5-year, B11001. The number that can watch free is the model's estimate, based on the FCC's service contours.

How to read the table

If a team's local games are already paid-only, a hub takes no free games away, so its reach does not change. If a team is on free TV today, a hub takes those games away from every household its station reaches, and the team only gets back the households that sign up. Friction is scored for one household at a time, so the example household is different for each team. The score counts the services a household needs, what they cost, the steps to set them up and the games that are not on its main service. The methods page has the formula and the numbers behind it.
